NC Machining equipment
The shop-floor is constantly being updated and enables BMD to machine parts up to 11500mm.
The NC programming dept uses CAD/CAM stations to manage both 2D and 3D geometries and tool paths (up to 5 continuous axes).
The main shop-floor has a lifting capability of 40 tons, and is equipped with the following machines.

Due to the size of the machinable workpieces, dimensional testing, as well as with traditional instrumentation, is also done with:
- FARO ARM anthropomorphic measuring arm, maximum measurable distance: 3.7m,
- FARO Laser Tracker laser Interferometer, maximum measurable distance: 35m.
